A song, theme or score in, a new arrangement for your ensemble out.

Arrangements I write

  • Songs for orchestra — pop, rock, latin or jazz songs with symphonic accompaniment for singers or as instrumental versions.
  • Film and media music — concert suites and medleys adapted for live performance by your orchestra.
  • Youth, school and amateur orchestras — adapted ranges, rhythms and divisi so every section sounds great.
  • Events and ceremonies — weddings, galas, anniversaries and concerts with custom repertoire.
  • Reductions and re-scorings — a symphonic work for string orchestra or chamber ensemble, or the other way round.

Arranger vs. orchestrator

If your music is already complete and only needs instruments, you need orchestration. If you need new introductions, endings, transitions, countermelodies or a medley, you need an arranger. I do both — and I conduct, so I write arrangements that work on stage.

What you receive

  • Full score in PDF, laid out for the conductor’s stand.
  • Individual parts in PDF, with cues, rehearsal marks and clean page turns.
  • Editable source file in Sibelius, Finale, Dorico or MuseScore (your choice).
  • MusicXML and MIDI so you can open the project in any notation software or DAW.

Price

From $40 USD per 30 seconds of final music. A 3-minute arrangement starts at 6 × $40 = $240 USD. Complex arrangements are quoted individually.

Orchestra arranger FAQ

What is the difference between an arranger and an orchestrator?

An orchestrator distributes existing music across the orchestra. An orchestra arranger goes further: new introductions, transitions, countermelodies, harmonies, form changes or medleys — a new version of the music, written for orchestra.

Can you arrange a pop song or a film theme for orchestra?

Yes. Arranging popular, film and media music for symphony orchestra is part of my everyday work, always as a commissioned service for your concert or production.

Who holds the rights to the original music?

Arrangements and transcriptions are commissioned services: I write the score on your behalf and claim no rights over the original works. If the music is protected by copyright, the client is responsible for obtaining the necessary licences (performance, recording or publication) from the rights holders or the relevant collecting society.

Can you write for my exact ensemble?

Yes — symphony orchestra, string orchestra, chamber ensemble, school or youth orchestra, orchestra with choir, soloist or band. Tell me your instrumentation and players’ level.

Can you make a medley?

Yes. Medleys and suites are quoted by total duration of the final arrangement.

How much does an orchestral arrangement cost?

From $40 USD per 30 seconds of final music. Arrangements with substantial new material are quoted individually — send me the details through the contact form.
